Lately to entertain the girls in the sometimes 100+ heat with high humidity, we've been playing outside (in the shade) with lot of water
lots of smiles
lots of fun
and lots of mosquitoes.
I HATE MOSQUITOES!
Bugs are my number one complaint here. Nathan has gotten 2 bites, Josie a few, but Kendyl and I are being eaten alive! The other day I put bug spray on all of us and five minutes later we were running inside after I saw the bites up and down Kendyl's legs. Poor girl woke up last night and wasn't able to fall asleep for hours because the bites were bothering her so much. (Poor dad who was up with her.)
Our solution:
On our way to go meet Nathan at his bus stop around the corner.
Nathan thought we were a bit crazy when he got off the bus to find his two girls crouched over a pile of pine cones, stirring them with long sticks, and looking like something out of Harry Potter or Star Wars.
But I am willing to look like a nutcase mom in public for the sake of a little more sleep.
